Pouring Slabs Over Cedar Park Limestone

Geologists named a local limestone layer after the town, the Cedar Park Member, which reaches about 125 feet thick near here (USGS Geolex). Good news for bearing, harder news for digging. Thickened slab edges and plumbing trenches may need a rock saw, and we'll price that as its own line item instead of hiding it in the square-foot rate.

Slab volume estimator

Measure the area in feet. A driveway or garage apron is usually 5 to 6 inches thick; a patio or walk is usually 4.

Slab and Foundation Questions

Do you build house foundations?

We pour slabs for shops, sheds, garages, additions and equipment pads. For a new house foundation, the design comes from a structural engineer, and we can pour to that design if the scope fits our crew.

Do I need a vapor barrier under a shop slab?

If the space will be enclosed, conditioned, or have flooring on it, yes. For an open carport pad, it's usually optional.
